Far Eastern Tourism Week is rescheduled to 2021 because of Covid-19.
Far Eastern Tourism Week is a series of events aimed at developing the hospitality industry in the Russian Far East, particularly in Sakhalin Region. The programme features a number of business events for local travel businesses and guests from the Russian Far East, as well as cultural events and festivals.
The first Far Eastern Tourism Week was held in 2019.
Over the course of a week (2–8 December), themed sessions and outdoor events were held for hospitality industry professionals, representatives from other countries and mass media courtesy of the Sakhalin Region Government and Federal Agency for Tourism.
Over 400 participants contributed to Far Eastern Tourism Week, the majority of which were representatives of Sakhalin businesses. Over 160 delegates from tourism agencies, hotels, restaurants, cafes and other commercial companies in the hospitality industry signed up for the events. Almost 100 more participants came from other Russian regions and abroad to take part in the event.
